On Thursday, we attended Leeds East Primary Partnership Debating Competition. We had been practising our speaking and presenting skills in class and had become excellent at arguing our point and trying to persuade our audience. Our debating team presented their argument opposing ‘Every child should stay in education up to the age of 18.’ . We showed excellent use of emphasis and body language and used convincing emotive language to win the debate! Well done to our team and also all of Amazon for their hard work in helping our team.
In Amazon, not only have we been practicing our singing for Young Voices, but also for our debating competition. Below is the video for Moana Mashup. We have been rehearsing singing the lyrics in harmony paying attention to pitch, tempo, dynamics and melody. For homework we will be carrying out a text analysis and annotation to understand the true meaning of the lyrics and how they relate to the story,
