Pupil Voice at White Laith

Our Pupil Voice Team gives pupils a say in the life of the school by allowing them to represent their classmates, share ideas and help make decisions about activities, resources and school improvements; elected councillors meet regularly with staff to discuss issues, plan events, lead projects such as eco-initiatives or playground improvements, and report back to their peers, which builds responsibility, communication skills and a sense of community across the school.

Our 'Pupil Voice Team' is made up of the School Council and our Reading Ambassadors. We have 3 set weeks throughout the year where the School Council gather pupil voice on a number of issues. This is used to ensure our school continues to improve and that issues raised by pupils are acted upon. They are also responsible for the smooth running of many of our charitable events planned across the year.

Children know that it is their responsibility to ensure they lead our school well!

Pupils are encouraged to take on a range of leadership roles in school within school. Pupils enjoy and thrive on having this additional responsibility.” (Ofsted 2016)
