Harrogate Flower Show Fun for Foundation!

helen driscoll

Foundation 2 had a great day at @HarrogateFlower Show. They took part in planting their own hanging baskets to take home, looking at the amazing show gardens and finding out about lots of different plants and flowers. Surprisingly we had the chance to do a bit of stone carving with a chisel and a mallet with Matombo. We also enjoyed listening to the Cliffton and Lightcliffe Brass Band and looking at graffiti art too! What a cultural day!

Drum performance

Nicola Sheerin

We have been learning to play different rhythms on the African djembe drums this term. We ended by performing to the school in assembly. We split into different groups and each group played a different rhythm alongside each other. It sounded great!

In Amazon, not only have we been practicing our singing for Young Voices, but also for our debating competition. Below is the video for Moana Mashup. We have been rehearsing singing the lyrics in harmony paying attention to pitch, tempo, dynamics and melody. For homework we will be carrying out a text analysis and annotation to understand the true meaning of the lyrics and how they relate to the story,

Amazon Ballet Workshop

Lynn peckett

Year 5 had a fabulous time learning about the ballet 'The Nutcracker'. We learned about different types of music, different ballet moves and how strong you have to be to be a dancer.
