Our 'Belonging Blanket'

Today we made a ‘Belonging Blanket’ together.

We have been learning about naming ceremonies in RE and have realised that these help people feel they belong. At school we belong together as a class and so we have made our own ‘Belonging Blanket’ together.

We learnt how to attach buttons, ribbon, pom poms, beads and lace to our fabric by sewing them on. We had to push the needle from the top to the bottom of our fabric and then back again. We had to work carefully so we didn’t prick our fingers! We did a great job and really enjoyed learning a new skill!
