Our topic in Year 2 is 'Vehicles'. We visited the National Railway Museum in York to learn more about the different parts for a train. Back in school we decided to build our own train. First we had a close look at toy vehicles to see how their wheels worked. We decided to make train carriages by threading axles through straws stuck to the under side of a piece of board. Then we cut boxes and tubes, and stuck them with double sided tape. Next we painted the carriage, first with white glue, then with metal coloured paint. When we joined all the carriages together the train stretched the length of the library. Click here to go to our class gallery to see a slide show of the train.
