White Laith Primary School is situated within Whinmoor in Leeds. Children and adults work together in an atmosphere of trust, respect and belonging. Danube - Year Three

In English, this half term, we will be studying the book ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes. We will use the text for our reading, writing and grammar lessons. We will be writing descriptive pieces, newspaper reports, recounts and poetry.

In Maths we will continue to work on our multiplication and division fluency and will then learn all about charts, graphs and statistics. We will also be practicing 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables every day and key skills every week. In science we are learning all about pushes, pulls and magnets.

In Spanish, we will continue to learn our key phonics sounds words before moving onto learning numbers and greetings. Our R.E topic is ‘What makes a good leader?’, our  PSHE topic is ‘Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco Education and our Mind Mate topic is ‘Handling Change’.

In PE we will start our swimming lessons, on Wednesdays. We will have a gymnastics session, with a professional coach, on Fridays.

  • Please ensure your child reads every night and completes their reading diary.

  • Learning logs will be sent out on alternate Fridays to come back on Wednesday.

  • Spellings will be sent home weekly to be learnt for a weekly test on Thursdays.
