Foundation staff are excited to share a new learning app with parents and families starting on Saturday 26th January. The app will be delivered straight to parents’ mobile phones and then after watching the video, parents can play the game with their children as many times as they like. The games are designed to support the development of language, concentration, bonding and resilience. We are looking forward to hearing how families get on!
Congratulations to our Foundation team on the teeth cleaning observation carried out by Leeds Oral Health Improvement Team. They were delighted with the procedure we use for cleaning teeth in Nursery and Reception and the way the children brush their teeth. Their comments included: 'Perfect!' & 'Absolutely Amazing!' It is great to know our children have a first class experience in all aspects of their care & learning!

On Thursday, we attended Leeds East Primary Partnership Debating Competition. We had been practising our speaking and presenting skills in class and had become excellent at arguing our point and trying to persuade our audience. Our debating team presented their argument opposing ‘Every child should stay in education up to the age of 18.’ . We showed excellent use of emphasis and body language and used convincing emotive language to win the debate! Well done to our team and also all of Amazon for their hard work in helping our team.

Last week Year 1 went on a trip to the Great Yorkshire Show Ground in Harrogate to celebrate National Apple Day! We had a fantastic day and found out lots about apples! In our first workshop we used cooking skills such as, coring and mixing to make our own apple crumbles. During the second workshop we explored the orchard and tasted lots of different apples including, ‘Dog Snout’ and ‘Red Devil’ - yum! Lastly, we made our very own White Laith apple juice using an apple smasher and an apple press - it was hard work but we all enjoyed it!
